OK-CURE’S annual board meeting is Sat. March 10 at 2PM in Tulsa at H & K Kaiser Library 5202 S Hudson Ave. It is just off 51st St between Yale and Sheridan. It is time to elect a new board; the current members are Amy Bailey, President; Ginny Freeman, Vice President; Jackie Beach, Sectary: Dave Hardy, Christie Breedlove, Vondella Jones, Pat Sparks. While no longer a board member, Lynn Powell has been the acting Director, this past year.
Any member in good standing (dues paid) can be nominated to the board by any member in good standing. The membership elects the board and then the board members elect the officers. All members in good standing can vote by absentee ballot as long as the ballot is received back by noon on the day of the meeting.
We understand everyone is very busy just trying to survive but to make change we need to work together. Even if all you have time to make a phone call, send a letter or email to your state Representative or Senator that can make a big difference sometimes.
The future of OK-CURE is in your hands. The new board will set time and locations of any meetings. We would love to have input from as many of our members as possible. Of course we also help that some of those hundreds of people that receive our yahoo group emails would consider becoming a member or to make a donation to us as we are a non-profit with a 501©3.
What kind of job do you think OK-CURE is doing? What areas are there room for improvements? Do you read the messages from twitter, facebook or our yahoo group emails? (I know only a few on the inside may have family members that forward them inside) What do you think needs to happen to improve CURE in any area? Please help us help you!
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.
